having relatively moderate political views myself (generally fiscally conservative, socially liberal), i don't have this issue. my family is filled with drastically different opinions, so i'm used to the controversey. a few christmas' ago, my grandma (a hard core democrat) threw my aunt (a hard core republican) out of the house because they got into a political arguement. luckily my grandpa persuaded her to let my aunt back in, but thats not the point. the point is that i have grown up around so many different views and different mindsets that i have had the proper exposure to develop my own political beliefs. so, i'm pretty much ready for whatever a potential friend/boyfriend. i will say though, that in my future marriage, i would prefer that my husband is pro-choice and pro-gay marriage. these are two things that i would prefer not to have to argue about with my husband. hopefully, he'll come from a pretty diverse minded family as well, so we'll be equals on the political front. and, even though this is wishful thinking, it would be awesome if he was pro capital punishment. but in this day and age, pretty much no one is for it (unless youre in texas or something), so i won't get my hopes up.

i am definitely against human cloning. it just seems like an odd thing to do. like, honestly, i don't want another me running around somewhere, thats just sketchy. and i definitely don't like the idea that is portrayed in "the island," where human clones are used as insurance policies. even though they are clones, they would have human thoughts and personalities, and to kill the said clones as an act of self preservation is not something i see as admirable. therefore, i think that the long-term effect will be negative, because if people do resort to using clones as insurance policies, than the whole cloning system could really just be seen as a massacre of fellow human beings. you also have to take into account the fact that if theres doubles of people running around, there could be a lot of chaos.

i don't know if its the worst song every written, but i DETEST the song "girls just wanna have fun" by cindy lauper. i HATE it. and it also angers me that pretty much everyone loves that song. i really don't understand why. and they insist at playing it at EVERY SINGLE SCHOOL function, and when it comes on everybody screams. i say to myself "fuck" and then excuse myself to get a drink. ugh. hate that shit.
you would have to pay me a reallyreallyreally good amount of money.

so i have not posted on here in a long, long time. well, i did that writer's block like last week or something, but does that count? i think not.
but, general update on my always exciting existance:
1. i have finally, and i repeat, finally, finished applying to college. final list: macalester (top), dickinson, juniata, hobart and william smith, american, richmond, goucher, vermont, new hampshire, and maine. i've gotten into five of them so far. but yeah, i can't wait for this shit to be over. they tell you that the worst part about applying to college is the actual application process, but no. that is LIES. LIES. the worst part is hands down the waiting.
2. brothers and sisters has consumed my life. i am ADDICTED to that show. it is so phenomanal, i can't even get over it. i literally sit here all day and think about that show. if you haven't seen it, you MUST, because it really is amazing. i even developed one of my little storylines to go along with it, so i spend my days plotting the events of my alter-ego's life with the walker family. its a very, very, very satisfying and entertaining pasttime. and, as a side note to the brothers and sisters addiction, i have decided that balthazar getty is very attractive.
so yeah. that pretty much is about it. i bet youre all just oozing jealously over reading about my uber exciting life. you know you are.
oh, one more exciting thing:
3. i finished the book the pact by jodi picoult yesterday. it was AWESOME. best book i've read since deathly hallows (bellatrix lestrange, rip), and thats saying something. it was sosososososo good. read it. you'll love it.

i am not a fan of action movies. not like, action adventure movies, just pure action movies. shit like die hard, mission impossible, all of those shitty spy movies just suck. or the dark knight. that movie is TERRIBLE.
i like dramas. romantic comedies. action adventure - sometimes. but yeah, no action for me thank you.
as for books i don't particularly like fantasy, with the exception of harry potter. but harry potter can be considered as its own literary genre, so it doesnt even matter. like, i cannot read books where the main characters name is like, gyulwfen. or some shit like that. it just does not work for me. at all.

I've never actually stopped being friends with someone due to political views, but there are a few things that I DO NOT like to talk about with my friends. Since I go to a Catholic school but aren't Catholic, a lot of my views about things are totally different than theirs. For instance, I refuse to get into the abortion discussion, because not only do I piss them off that I'm pro choice, but I get pissed off that they're pro life. So it really doesn't work out. I also hatehatehate talking to my friends about gay marriage. I'm not gay, but its still a really big thing for me that it should be allowed. I get so irritated when I talk to these people who are so homophobic, and the thought that someone would even be against gay marriage, or at even civil unions really angers me. But yeah, overall, I don't pick my friends due to political views, although if someone is a Hillary fan than that usually works out. (:

so facebook is getting a tad ridiculous. not ridiculous, like, im going to delete my account or anything, but ridiculous in other ways, such as:
1. the increasingly alarming amount of over 40 members. i for instance, am not only friends with my GRANDMA on facebook, but with four of my aunts, and three of my uncles, along with numerous other family friends, etc. i really do not understand why they're on facebook. i sure as hell hope that when im their age, ill have better things to do than go on facebook and play farmtown.
2. i. fucking. hate. farm. fucking. town. or ville. whatever the fuck it is now. i joined it a while ago, and i haven't gotten around to deleting it yet, but every single day i get at least, at least, ten requests from my aunt and uncle who are total farmtown fanatics. SORRY, I DON'T WANT YOUR FUCKING MANGO TREE, AND I DONT WANT TO HELP ON YOUR FUCKING FARM FOR SOME FUCKING FAKE MONEY. i apologize, but i feel very strongly against farmtown. that and mafia wars. if i get sent another energy pack by someone, ill jump off the astronomy tower.
but yes, these aspects of facebook are beginning to annoy me.
whats also annoying is the fact that i have to write an essay like, right now, about obamas education speech. we got this assignment weeks ago, and im just getting to it. fml. way to go me.
i think ill go on lastfm. lets see what they have for me today.
eff you lastfm. i went on there, and the toaster strudel ad shut down my computer. def not going on there again today.

I haven't posted on this in a while. Not really much of a shame, considering that nothing interesting has been going on.
Swimming has started (sadly) and, like expected, it sucks. A lot. I don't find swimming back and forth for two hours every evening to be too enjoyable, especially when I have some annoying 35 year old guy screaming about something everytime I go to do a flip turn. Fun, right?
I'm listening to the last.fm radio website. It's a win. I think I may enjoy it more than Pandora, but we'll see.
So my life really has nothing to offer for the past week or so. I'm not going to bore you anymore.

My cat Lucky passed away yesterday. She was perhaps the greatest cat to ever walk the face of the planet. I've never met another cat who was as outgoing or friendly as she was. She was always cheerful and purring, and up until her last few days was always extremely active. But, I suppose 19 years is a pretty good life span for a cat, so overall she had a good life. I loved her so much, and its just depressing to know that I'll never see her again. We buried her in our backyard, and I put a bunch of flowers around the rock that marked where she was buried. I was the one who put her in the box that she was buried in, and I was worried that that image I have of her would replace all that I've seen of her for my entire life, but it hasn't, so thats good. It's just going to be strange without her, because she wasn't just a pet, she was more like a sister. She's older than I am, so she was always there, I was never home without her being here. It was weird last night me trying to go to sleep without her laying on top of me. I feel bad though, because I haven't really cried about it. For all my other pets that have passed away, I was bawling my eyes out, but for some reason here, I have yet to cry. I try to keep telling myself that it's because for a few days now, we knew her death was coming. I do think that might be why. But, I won't keep talking about this, it's too depressing.

- I'll respond by asking you five questions.
- Update your journal with the answers to those questions.
- Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.
My questions were:
1. What type of shampoo do you use? I use this Paul Mitchell shampoo that is designed to clarify your hair or something like that. I don't know the exact name, but it's the Paul Mitchell kind that comes in the blue bottle. Before I had that, I used to use the Loreal Vive Pro in the pink bottle, but then my hairdresser suggested I switched. I liked the Loreal kind though, it worked quite well.
2. Do you wear ankle socks? I don't really wear socks all that much, but when I do I do wear ankle socks. Longer socks are just annoying and get in the way. The only time I don't wear ankle socks is when I'm skiing, or when I'm at school, during both of which I wear knee socks.
3. Do you like pie? I like apple pie and chocolate pudding pie. Apart from that though, I'm not really a fan of any others.
4. Do you like your handwriting? I do. I have two different handwriting styles, and I like both of them.
5. Have you ever had head lice? No, thank God. I would die.

i had a weird dream last night. odd, right?
so i was hermione in harry potter, and i was in the 6th book. it was at the end, you know, when people are fighting at hogwarts, not at the part where dumbledore and harry go to the gave. i was running around with the girl who played stephanie tanner in full house, and we were running from draco malfoy. we ran to this elevator (they don't have elevators in hogwarts, but whatever) where you gave it a voice command to tell you where to go. we told it to go anywhere, because we wanted to get away from draco. but then, when we got to the place, a few minutes later he showed up as well, and started firing all of these spells at us. i then ran up to him, broke his wand, and ran. suddenly he took his wand and set the library on fire, despite it being broken. astounded, i took this random book out of nowhere and started hitting him over the head with it. then dumbledore, who apparently wasn't dead yet, came up to us, and i told him that me and stephanie needed to talk to him. he took us to his office, which looked like a church, because it had a bunch of pews. suddenly, between all the pews came a bunch of clothing racks, and a sign appeared that said forever 21. excited, we went through some of the clothes, only to find out we had a task to complete before taking any of them. dumbledore gave us a bowl of water filled with olives and said he had to ask us two questions. if we got them right, we had to drink the water and then take whatever clothes we wanted. if we got them wrong, we had to eat the olives and not take any clothes. we got them right, and the dream ended with stephanie saying "oh thank god."
yeah, so it was a weird dream. i think the questions part came in because when i woke up the tv was on who wants to be a millionare. so yes, i think that may have something to do with it.

i really don't have anything to do right now, so i decided that i would come on here and make an uberexcting post for all of you to read.
so i'm sitting at bradley international (international my ass, i don't think of the bahamas as an internatonal destination) airport, and my flight is delayed. i'm going to florida to visit my sister, and this is the first time i'm doing a connecting flight alone. i've flown alone plenty of times, but this is the first time i have to connect somewhere. it figures then, that my flight is delayed. this is just wonderful. but, apparently the flight that i'm supposed to get on in charlotte is delayed in boston, so i'll be able to make the flight.
i have an interesting cast of characters sitting around me. across from me, theres four ADORABLE old people, two women and two men. old people near me is always a plus. now this odd couple has just sat across from me. the woman is wearing a black vneck shirt with a skull tshirt under it. i wouldn't find this weird if they weren't over fifty. the couple, who has now been joined by a similar aged woman wearing a purple tunic shirt, is now discussingt he candy they bought that the store, which, is a lot of freaking candy. i can sense these are going to be the annoying people who take forever to get on and off the plane, because they have five bags with them to take on. way to go, over fifty couple and friend. then there's a family, parents and a daughter who i believe is named erica. they were nice and watched my stuff for me when i went to the bathroom. they're going to las vegas. they've made friends with this lady sitting next to them, this blonde woman with a huge green flower in her hair. she gave erica a beanie baby, and is now discussing with her her liking of black bears. she says shes never been to connecticut, so i'm wondering why she came here. but apparently she went to the yale hospital for her knee - good to know, because i was wondering why she had a cane even though she's not that old. now the family and the woman are talking about cabelas. i effing HATE that store. holy crap, apparently the flowered woman's son is training for the tour de france. she says hes 17, and i have a feeling he's quite attractive, because the woman is nice looking. behind me is this total tool, who i can't stand. he keeps talking like he's on the phone, which i suppose he might be, but he has headphones in and is just talking into space. about an hour ago he was sitting next to me, and kept glancing over. i suspect he may be a pedophile.
i'm glad i have this laptop with me, because it gives me a nice excuse not to get started on pride and predjudice.

i guess i would split the money 3 ways.
the first portion i would give to my parents, not to spend on me, or anything related to me, but just to spend how they please. they've done a lot for me, and they deserve it.
the second portion i would donate to find a cure for als, aka lou gehrigs disease. my grandpa had als, and for those of you who don't know what it is, it basically disintegrates your muscles so you can't move, along with a bunch of other nasty things. i think it's a terrible disease, and not enough is being done to find a cure.
with the last portion i would perhaps do something with animals, maybe open some kind of animal program. i would go to pounds where they kill the animals eventually, and take the ones who are soon to be put to sleep, and i would find them foster families or other facilities where they would not be put to death to take them until i was able to find a good home. the program would also be extended to animals who were abused, or unwanted because of any disabilities.

i just had a very exciting 24 hours. mainly for two reasons.
1. yesterday i went to the COLDPLAY CONCERT! it was beyond amazing. best concert i have ever been to in my entire life. i actually cried at one point, during fix you. thats a very emotional song, so i'm sure i wasnt the only one. but wow. that concert was absolutely amazing. chris martin is the funniest guy ever, he was awesome. and it was really cool how they put out the balloons and the confetti. overall, it was just amazing, and i will definitely go see them again.
2. i got my license today! its about time too. i was quite nervous, because the first time i went and failed, i had this really gross woman doing the test. i almost got her today, but then i got this TOTALLY AWESOME lady, who was really nice and everything. apparently she was just standing in for someone at the dmv, so that explains why she wasnt a total jerk. but yeah, i was quite happy. a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.
so yes, the day was made of awesome. life is good.

so today i was at the library, volunteering like i do every week. rachel, my boss (well, kind of), had me put these overdue book notices in envelopes. being the nosy person i am, i looked at the people who had the overdue books, and what books they took out. now, after doing this, i feel quite bad actually. some of the books that people took out are probably not books that people would want someone like myself to see. one girl, someone i actually know, took out "free your mind: outreach to gay, lesbian, and bisexual teens" or something like that. i had no idea she was a lesbian/bisexual. i feel like i intruded on something very private. another letter i came across, the woman had two books overdue. one, "the self help guide to pshychotherapy" and "am i normal?" its highly likely that this woman doesnt want me knowing that shes having mental problems. so while i laughed about these things at the time, looking back them i feel rather bad.
but on a lighter note, i went to target today, and bought an amazing dress. it doesnt look so great in that picture, but its made of awesome in person. i've decided that the whole long dress thing suits me quite a bit, and id like to buy more. it helps because most of the time it seems theyre empire waisted, and, being of a large figure like myself, empire waists tend to make you look much slimmer than you really are.

well. thats a big question.
lets see. technically the fifth one is my favorite from the whole series. so i would have to say that one. its just an amazing book, despite the presence of umbridge, who in my opinion is worse than voldemort. hands down. so its quite satisfying in the end when she gets taken off by the centaurs.
the seventh one is also quite satisfying. one reason why is because it offers a lot more lucius/bella/narcissa scenes than the others, which is always a plus. the ending is great of course, because the force of good prevails over the force of evil. the epilogue is not satisfying though, because it didnt give me as much closure as i would of liked. i know that amount of closure would require a whole other series, but i would have liked to know what other characters were up to besides the main four.
the first one is also really satisfying, because, especially if its your first time reading the books, youre done and its just like, wow. the first one is actually really amazing, contrary to what some people think. some of my friends wont read it again because the plot isnt as complex as the later ones, but thats stupid, because its really quite good.
overall the fifth one, order of the phoenix, is the most satisfying.
